Energy Savings – Geothermal Heating Cost

The savings that can be achieved with a geothermal heat pump system will greatly depend on the energy prices of the comparable system.  Currently, the savings are largest when compared to propane systems.  The savings over propane is approximately 70%.  When compared to natural gas the savings is still considerable but much less at approximately 25%.

With the renewable system, you are using ‘free’ energy directly from the earth, and the only operational cost is the electricity needed to transfer that energy from the earth into your home.
